Meet the StaffJennifer FountainHowdy! My name is Jennifer Fountain and I am the Assistant Director for the Department of Student Activities and the Advisor of the Student Government Association. I am originally from Seattle, Washington and I graduated from Central Washington University in 1995 with a B.S. in Marketing Education and a minor in Business. At the conclusion of my sixth year as a high school teacher, I returned to Central Washington University to earn my graduate degree in Marketing and Business Education. During the summer of 2002, I traveled to central and eastern Europe to complete research for my thesis. My topic required me to delve into the lives of woman entrepreneurs who were starting up businesses during the economic shift of command economies to a more market-driven, or demand economy. As a researcher, I was able to spend time with these women and observe their leadership styles and approaches to a new business model. It was this project that propelled my interest in leadership theory. After earning my master’s degree in August, 2002 Ir directed the Center for Excellence in Leadership at Central Washington University. I was there for 4 years before moving to College Station, Texas.
I relish time spent with family; specifically my parents Barry and Lynn Fountain and sister Amy Fountain. I currently reside in Bryan, Texas and enjoy all activities related to the outdoors. In addition to celebrating Aggie traditions, I enjoy traveling, running, and listening to music.
Vicki DobiyanskiHowdy! My name is Vicki Dobiyanski and I am a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggies Classes of 2003 and 2006! WHOOP! I am honored to have the opportunity to return to Texas A&M University as a Student Development Specialist II to work in the Student Government Association. I earned my Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Management and my Master’s of Science in Educational Administration-Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education.
I am originally from Waco, Texas and I grew up in Aurora, Illinois. While at Texas A&M University, I had the privilege of marching in the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and participating in Traditions Council, a committee within the Student Government Association. Upon graduation from my master’s program, I was offered a job with the University of Notre Dame where I served as a Student Programs Coordinator. My responsibilities there included advising student government organizations and managing the on-campus nightclub. In September 2007, I was given the opportunity to return to Texas A&M University and work in SGA! I am so glad to be back at Texas A&M University and work with SGA! I enjoy all types of outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends. Thanks and Gig’em!
Andrew DowhaniukHowdy, my name is Andrew Dowhaniuk and I am a Graduate Assistant in the Student Government Association. I advise the Conference on Student Government Associations (COSGA), the High School Leadership Conference (HSLC), and SGA Development. I am originally from Edmonton, Canada before moving to Allen, TX during high school. I am also the proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Classes of 2007 and 2009. Here at Texas A&M, I have earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and I am currently working towards a Master’s of Science in Human Resource Management. In my free time, I enjoy watching Aggie sports and spending time with family and friends. Sandy BriersHowdy! My name is Sandy Briers and I serve as the Senior Administrative Coordinator in the Student Government Association office. I have worked on campus since 1984, beginning my career in the Student Government Office, working with David Alders, the student body president in 1984-85. Things have changed immensely in SGA since those days over 20 years ago. My career has taken a few turns with the Texas A&M Foundation, the Texas Engineering Experiment Station, and then back to the Department of Student Activities’ central office, where I was fortunate to help coordinate the move into the Koldus Student Services Building in 1991 for the entire department. Over the last 16 years I have worked in the Student Activities Central Office as Assistant to the Director and Facility Coordinator, working with the director and coordinator staffs to further the goals of the department and with student organizations in their office and cubicle needs. I am a 1995 Aggie graduate, majoring in Sociology with a minor in Business Management. I am fortunate to be able to travel occasionally internationally with my husband Gary on his projects through the Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications Department. We also enjoy our four grandchildren who keep us busy and entertained whenever they visit or we travel to see them. I enjoy working with the students, seeing them grow and mature as they encounter their organization situations and problem solving decisions. In my current position, I work with the Student Body President and the Assistant Director schedules and various other office projects: equipment checkout, office management, parking for SGA student leaders, Exec Council, SGA committees, etc. I am a member of a TEAM of staff who work together to insure that SGA and its students continues in its mission and goals as each new leadership team after spring elections. It’s fun…and lots of work…
