To attend and participate in the Annual Association of Performing Arts Presenters Conference, January 4-19, 2009 in New York, NY. Meet with agents regarding bookings for for the 2009-2010 MSC OPAS season and attend professional development seminars/workshops related to the performing arts. Preview Broadway shows, artist showcases and other performining arts offerings for future MSC OPAS presentations. Meet with former students to foster former student relationships and discuss OPAS endowment.

Thirty-seven student delegates and ten student executives will participate in this conference. The students will tour businesses, hear from the top executives, hold round table discussions with a diverse panel of experts on leadership and ethics, and hear motivational speakers. Interaction with A&M former student leaders in the Austin area will also be an integral part of the conference.

Travel to participate in the Southern Agricultural Economics Association meetings in Atlanta, Georgia and to compete in student section of Academic Bowl. Professional development and an opportunity for our students to represent Texas A&M University and the Department of Agricultural Economics at the annual SAEA meetings. The annual SAEA meetings gives our students and team members a chance to practice for the national championship against other national teams that they will face again this summer.

Students will depart on February 5 in order to arrive by late afternoon to participate in the opening events that evening. On February 6 and February 7, they will attend seminars that educate students how to effectively lead and manage the Local Committee organizations; workshops relating to topics/trends in the global economy/employment and international learning experiences; and attend and participate in the annual business meeting to conduct the business of the National Committee. Attendance at the IAESTE National Conferenced and participation in the annual business meeting is required of all Local Committee organizations. The students will travel back to College Station on February 8.

The Aggie Exercise Physiology Club will be touring the UT HSC San Antonio campus. Students will be able to tour the university's PT program or their PA program. It will provide insight for undergraduate students when deciding on applying for professional school.

This is a leadership conference planned by members of MSCC ALOT for high school juniors and seniors from around the state. High school students check in on Friday afternoon and we have various keynote speakers, roundtable discussions, breakout sessions, activities, and social events.

The 2009 Hatton W. Sumners Student Leadership Conference is hosted by the Center for Ethical Leadership at the University of Texas. This leadership conference is a highly competitive event, and students selected to attend are those who have not only excelled academically but who have also demonstrated leadership potential, responsibility, and a commitment to serving others. Texas A&M has a history of sending outstanding delegates, and we hope to continue to do so this year and in the future.

54th Annual Student Conference on National Affairs (SCONA), Texas A&M MSC, Faculty/Advisor Contact: Raye Leigh Stone, MSCC (845-1515)
This years conference will take place from February 26-28, 2008 and the topic is "U.S. Intervention in Problematic Areas Around the World". SCONA has called upon speakers and facilitators who have experience in these topics and will help student delegates develop a clear policy strategy in the future for U.S. intervention. These policy strategies will then be judged from a variety of angles by experts in the field of U.S. intervention. SCONA will continue its history of success in bringing issues of national and international significance to the forefront.

This is an annual national EMS and First Resonder conference that is attended by Texas A&M EMS and Texas A&M Emergency Care Team every year. This is a growth and leadership development opportunity for the attendees where they attend continuing medical education classes and interact with leaders from other collegiate EMS systems to exchange ideas and network.

The Women's Leadership Forum is designed for faculty, staff and students to increase and inspire women's leadership in the community and their daily lives as well as promote awareness for "Going Green". From this forum, we would like our participants to take away many things, including the drive for green behavior, the power of women to make a difference in their local environment, and the role of women as leaders in all aspects of the community, state, and nation.

The Spring Leadership Trip provides Texas A&M University's finest student leaders with the opportunity to experience life beyond the college environment. The main purpose of the Spring Leadership Trip is to allow students to gain first-hand knowlege of the challenges and opportunities that may present themselves in the transition from college. Former students and guests who participate in the trip serve as role models for the students as they contemplate their future. The trip's second goal is to expose the delegates to the culture of a host city. To fulfill this goal, delegates of the Spring Leadership Trip will be introduced to local culture via the fine arts, local attractions, discussions, and cuisine.

Aggie Shadows is a conference where high school Juniors and Seniors come to campus to experience college firsthand. The high school students will stay overnight in the dorms with students who volunteer to house them for the conference. They will be able to shadow a student and experience their normal academic daily routine. They will also learn about Aggie traditions, and receive information about student financial aid. Speakers will talk to the students about how to succeed in college and how to be a leader.

China-US Relations Conference; Beijing, China
This prestigious conference is a bi-annual meeting coordinated by TAMU (International Programs, Confucius Institute, Institute for Pacific Asia, VP Research, & other departments on campus) & various Chinese counterparts. It engages business, industry, government, scientific, & education officials in bilateral discussions focused on research topics critical to both nations (energy, economics, science/technology, eduction, security, etc.) Only 20 TAMU students were selected from an applicant pool of 215 to serve as Student Ambassadors for this program. They are being funded to participate in the conference & a cultural immersion experience by the Chinese government. The two chief student leaders of the Aggie Orientation Leader Program will travel with the Office of New Student Programs to the Annual Conference for the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA). As the conference begins on November 7, the students will fly out on November 6. Each student will provide a memo to their instructors regarding their absence and will be responsible for making up any missed school work. Texas Rural Innovators Forum; LCRA Riverside Conference Center, Bastrop, TX
Students will be traveling to Bastrop, Texas to participate in a Texas Rural Innovators Forum (TRIF) meeting. The TRIF meeting will allow students to learn from speakers across the South about family asset-building as a route to economic and community development. The forum also includes a Texas issues component in which the students will hear about the opportunities and challenges currently faced by rural Texas communities. They will also have the opportunity to interact with staff members from State agencies and economic development organizations throughout Texas and beyond and to learn about potential internship and graduate study opportunities in community economic development. The students invited to attend the meeting have indicated an interest in careers in community economic development and policy. Space Engineering Institute Design Project Presentations; 110 Koldus
This event is sponsored by the College of Engineering and the Space Engineering Institute. Students will be presenting their semester work to a group of NASA engineers and A&M engineering faculty.
