Purpose

The purpose of the Service Advisory Team is to foster greater partnerships among community agencies and students of Texas A&M University. The Service Advisory Team is made up of representatives from Community Agencies working collaboratively with staff members of Texas A&M’s Leadership and Service Center. This team will strive to improve social issues within the Bryan/College Station community and increase the number of civic engagement opportunities available to students of Texas A&M University.

Goals/Objectives

  • Increase the level of student involvement with community agencies.
  • Identify resources to assist community agencies with recruitment and retention of volunteers.
  • Develop new tools for increasing opportunities for collaboration among community agencies.
  • Evaluate current programs for agencies and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop incentives for agencies to actively use and update AggieServe.
  • Increase the number of service opportunities posted on AggieServe.

  • Network with Texas A&M staff and representatives from various community agencies who share similar programmatic functions
  • Directly impact services and resources offered to community agencies
  • Gain resources for recruiting and retaining student volunteers
  • Positively impact the number of students engaging in volunteer activities
